THE Bailey Group is celebrating after being shortlisted for two awards at a prestigious regional industry awards ceremony.

We have been nominated for Accountancy Firm of the Year (Under 50 employees) whilst our Chief Executive Chris Bailey is in the running for Accountant of the Year at the North East Accountancy Awards 2018.

The Bailey Group, which was established in 2004 have 47 members of staff working in five branches across the region including Peterlee, Sedgefield, Gateshead, Consett and Redcar.

Chris Bailey founded The Bailey Group 14 years ago has been involved in the Accountancy industry for more than 30 years. This year sees him celebrating 25 years as a qualified Chartered Accountant after he qualified from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in 1993.

This is the second year in a row that The Bailey Group have been nominated at the awards, having previously been nominated for Best Independent Firm at last year’s ceremony.

Chris Bailey Chief Executive of The Bailey Group said: “We are really delighted to have been nominated for these two awards. The North East Accountancy Awards are a benchmark in the industry and we are honoured that this is the second year we have been recognised.

“Although we are a relatively small firm, we work with a lot of businesses in the North East and believe that the service we provide rivals that of the larger firms.”

The industry awards are held annually and are now in their 12th year with previous winners including industry heavyweights as KPMG.

Chris added: “Being nominated for Accountant of the Year was a particularly nice surprise. When I first qualified I never expected to be nominated for awards but this is a fantastic way to celebrate my 25th year as a Chartered Accountant.”

The winners will be announced at an awards dinner on Thursday 28 June at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead.
