Clough Tomblin & Co started business life in the 1920s as G W Clough & Co.  Mr N Tomblin joined Mr Clough in the 1930s and became a partner just after the Second World War.

Peter Jennings joined and became a partner in the 1960s and took the practice forward.  His success, combined with the expanding workload created by VAT, allowed three articled clerks who had come straight from school, and qualified, to take over the practice from the two senior partners.  Those three, John Spenceley, David Crowther and Neil Riley then practiced until 2018 when Bailey Group Chartered Accountants acquired the practice.

Bailey Group Chartered Accountants then merged with SKS Business Services in September 2020 to become SKS Bailey Group.
