Eat Out to Help Out scheme launches next Monday

The ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme launches next Monday. Over 53,000 outlets across the UK have signed up to participate in the scheme.

Keep your eyes peeled for the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ logo in your local cafes and restaurants. The logo means diners will receive a 50% discount up to a maximum of £10 per person on food and non-alcoholic drinks.

The scheme will run any Monday to Wednesday throughout August and is designed to boost the food and drink sector after being dramatically affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Establishments open before the 7th July that are registered as a food business and sell food for immediate consumption on the premises and have their own dining or shared dining area are eligible to register for the scheme. Businesses can still register for the scheme if they are a dine in restaurant operating a takeaway service.

Outlets must wait seven days after registering for the scheme to make their first claim. Claims can be submitted weekly and are being paid within five working days. Outlets are encouraged to register for the scheme before August 3rd to benefit for the entire month that the scheme runs.

Outlets using the scheme must keep daily records of the total number of people who have used the scheme, the total value of transactions under the scheme and the total amount of discounts given.
